Sunflowers and Smiles!
Everyone could use a little sunshine in their life right now, so Wisconsin farmer Scott Thompson’s family decided that's what they were going to do. They planted more than 2 million sunflowers in their fields along with a field of zinnias, a field of wildflowers, and Mexican sunflowers that are known for attracting butterflies. This is the first time in more than 70 years that flowers are decorating the landscape. Usually, the pick-your-own farm consists of strawberries in the summer and raspberries and pumpkins in the fall. The Thompson Strawberry Farm located in Bristol, WI is drawing people to a simpler family outing where they can picnic, wander fields of florals and take home a dozen sunflowers.
