ADVISORY FROM THE LINCOLN PARK POLICE
Be advised that there is no parking on snow covered roadways. Vehicles left parked on the street will be ticketed and may be towed in certain instances. Once the snow is cleared by the DPW you may resume parking on the street. Motorists are also reminded that vehicles must be cleared of snow and ice prior to being driven. Failure to do so could result in a summons for N.J.S. 39:4-77.1.
911 IS FOR TRUE EMERGENCIES! Please do not call 911 to report a power outage, unless you observe something that poses a public hazard such as a tree or power line being down in the street or other places where a vehicle or person could come in contact with it.
Please report all other "non-emergency" power outages directly to JCP&L by calling 1-888-544-4877, visiting https://www.firstenergycorp.com/.../Report_Power_Outages... or texting the outage to 544487. For all other non-emergency situations that would require a police response, please contact the police desk at 973-694-5533.
On an added note, if you do lose power, please REFRAIN from calling the police desk to inquire about when the power will be restored. We DO NOT receive regular updates from JCP&L about restoration times. Again, these inquiries should be made directly with JCP&L via phone or by signing up for JCP&L notifications at https://www.firstenergycorp.com/.../communication_tools.
Please understand that while our goal is to assist everyone, our dispatch and patrols may become overwhelmed responding to emergencies during these storms. It helps us serve the public more effectively when we are not inundated with "inquiry" types of calls during bad weather events.
Thank you for helping us to help you!
