Sorry Lincoln Park, but Winter Storm Orlena scared me back into my hole!
February Dates to Remember:
President's DayPresidents' Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, the holiday became popularly known as Presidents' Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers. While several states still have individual holidays honoring the birthdays of Washington, Abraham Lincoln and other figures, Presidents' Day is now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. presidents, past and present.

Nearly 1 in 2 adults have hypertension, yet only about 1 in 4 have their blood pressure under control. Regularly monitoring your blood pressure, with support from your health care team, can help lower your risk for heart disease and stroke. You can check your blood pressure at the doctor’s office, the pharmacy or even at home! Visit the CDC for more information: https://www.cdc.gov/bloodpressure/measure.htm

Lincoln Park Fire Department With the colder weather upon us, please remember some of these important safety tips to ensure the well-being of you and your loved ones.
It is important to make sure you check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors yearly. You want to make sure the batteries in both detectors are still good and working. The average shelf life for these detectors are 7 years. You can find the expiration date of your detector by taking it down and looking at the back of it. All new detectors are good for 10 years.
