Mayor Runfeldt's MessageI am happy to let you know that starting May 24th Borough Hall will officially be open to everyone. This has been a long inconvenience for many of us due to the restrictions and recommendations put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. I personally want to thank all of our residents for your understanding and all of our employees for providing top quality service during the trying time. Wearing of masks and maintaining proper social distance will be required of all visitors and we will follow the recommendations of the CDC and our state and local health departments going forward.
One of the reasons which facilitated the reopening of Borough Hall is that our new case transmission has remained relatively low and stable for a period of time now. We as a community were hard hit at the beginning of the pandemic primarily due to the amount of nursing and long term care facilities we have in town. At some point, nearly all of the surrounding towns and many towns throughout the county of similar size have matched or surpassed our numbers. I firmly believe that our stable transmission rate is due to many of us in the Lincoln Park community doing our part to follow various health and safety recommendations and show care and respect to our neighbors. Thank you for all you have done to help out!
I would like to remind everyone that at this time, the Pfizer vaccine is available in Morris County to everyone 16 years of age and older and the Moderna vaccine is available to all those 18 years of age and older. Please check our website to find out the most recent information on how and where to get your vaccine.
Governor Murphy has relaxed many of the executive order restrictions which will take effect on May 19th. Please remember to continue to be vigilant as we continue our efforts to return to normal and resume many things that have been banned or restricted. Please keep up to date with all recommendations and continue to do your part!
