12 ways to Have a Health Holiday SeasonAlong with all the merry making, the holiday season can bring on a lot of stress. Take steps to prevent illness and to stay safe. Here are some tips from the CDC to help you out. https://www.cdc.gov/features/healthytips/index.htmlFlu VaccinesThe health department had our yearly flu clinics on October 2 nd and 10 th. If you still need a flu vaccination many local pharmacies offer them with no co-pay. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older. Certain people are at a greater risk for serious complications from the flu. Those at high risk include: - Children younger than 5, but especially children younger than 2 years old
- People 65 years of age and older
- Pregnant women and women up to 2 weeks postpartum
- American Indians and Alaskan Natives
- People who have medical conditions such as asthma, heart disease and diabetes
Flu vaccination should also be a priority for those persons who live with or care for individuals at higher risk for complications. Atlantic Health System Free Cancer ScreeningsThe Morris County Cancer Education & Early Detection Program (NJCEED) Provides early detection screenings, assistance in planning appointments, follow-up to patients diagnosed through the program and community-based outreach & education. Upcoming screenings for women - December 5, December 8, January 16
Upcoming screenings for men - December 12

- December 13: PAL Board Meeting
CONGRATULATIONS LP RAIDERS JUNIORS!
On Sunday, November 18th, the Lincoln Park Raiders Junior squad avenged an early season loss by defeating the Kinnelon Colts 37-27 in this year’s Super Bowl. It was an exciting game, with both teams taking turns in the lead. The 4th seeded Raiders played hard and fought to win the game against the number 2 seed Colts. The Raiders had previously beaten the number 1 seeded Pequannock Panthers to secure their spot in the championship game. We are extremely proud of how this team demonstrates good sportsmanship, teamwork, and love for the game. Congratulations Raiders Juniors!
