Joyce StagerIt is with a sad heart that I inform you of the passing of one of our long-time residents and former Borough Employee, Joyce Stager.
Joyce Stager, 76, of Lincoln Park, passed away on January 15, 2019. She was born in Dover and lived in Montville before moving to Lincoln Park where she and her husband, Hoby Stager, raised their family.
Joyce was a homemaker and worked countless hours volunteering at St. Joseph's Church as a Eucharistic Minister during masses and at the nursing home and hospital as well as assisting with the Giving Tree at Christmas. She was a cherished member and Past President of The Pequannock Valley Rotary and a member of the 200 Club of Morris County.
Joyce was an employee of the Borough of Lincoln Park working as the Coordinator of the Five Town Dial-A-Ride and the Lincoln Park Food Pantry. The Borough was fortunate to have Joyce at the helm of the Food Pantry where she re-organized the system and increased donations from so many generous local businesses and private citizens. She worked tirelessly to ensure that anyone that needed assistance received assistance, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
So many wonderful words have been said about Joyce over the past few days, one of the most memorable is "I have great memories of Joyce...giving all of us her view of the world". Joyce made time for everyone and volunteered for everything. Her family's hope for her legacy is that, in your thoughts of her, you will follow in her footsteps and step up to volunteer wherever you can or just have a kind word or smile for someone else.
Donations in Joyce's memory are appreciated: St. Joseph's Church 216 Comly Road Lincoln Park Hunterdon Outreach Program (www.hunterdonoutreach.org) P.O. Box 1099 Flemington, N.J. 08822-1099.
Please join me in keeping Joyce's family in our thoughts and prayers this weekend.
