Zoning Board of Adjustment Vacancy:

There is a vacancy for the Zoning Board of Adjustment Alternate #2 position.  If you would be interested in applying for this volunteer position please send resume and any other community service experience you may have.  The Zoning Board meets one evening a month, here at Borough Hall.  If you have questions please call Joan Ward, Zoning Board Secretary at 973-270-2025. Please send resume and or information to the Municipal Clerk.

2018 Water Quality Report   

this report lists all the drinking water analytes that we detected during the calendar year 2018. The presence of these analytes in the water does not necessarily indicate that the water poses a health risk. PRIMARY CONTAMINANTS COMPLIANCE

2019 Recycling Calendar

Recycling Collection Requirements have changed.  Please be sure to review the list of acceptable and non-acceptable material.  Please do not put your recyclables in plastic grocery bags or clear garbage bags.  When in doubt, please throw it out! 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:  

JULY CURBSIDE BULK RECYCLING:  

Bulk items should not be put out more than 24 hours in advance of pick-up.  Please allow 48hrs for pick-up.
Route 1: July 1st            Route 2: July 8th          Route 3: July 15th 


Mosquito Spraying - We will be out assisting the county with roadside spraying throughout the summer months.

 

Brush Pick Up: Brush pick up for all routes will be on JULY 11. Brush must, be placed curbside the night before scheduled date of pick up. All brush and branches shall not exceed 3 inches in diameter and no longer than 6ft long. Piles must be bundled or tied in manageable one man piles, with stick ends facing in the same direction. 

Grass Pick Up: Route #1 July 11 & 25, Routes #2 & #3 July 5 & 18.  Grass must be placed curbside the night before scheduled date of pickup. Grass must be bagged in biodegradable lawn bags or in clearly marked barrels. Barrels may not exceed 45lbs (35gal). Landscape barrels are discouraged.

IT IS TICK SEASON - always be on the lookout!

Spring is here and with the warmer weather some great things, like spring flowers, will be happening outside. But along with the pretty flowers come some not so welcome things, like ticks. Over the last few decades ticks have spread across more of the United States and with them come the diseases they carry. The Water & Sewer Department is offering E-Bills.  
Go paperless and get your water and sewer bills emailed to you each quarter.   To sign up please stop by the Water Department or visit the Water Dept page of the Borough’s website.  Sign Up now for E-Bills

ACH DIRECT WITHDRAWL:  The Automated Electronic Funds transfer program allows you to pre-authorize payment of your municipal charges directly from your checking or savings account through electronic funds transfer - with no paper check involved!  To sign up for ACH Direct Withdrawal, visit the Finance Dept page to print the form.  Please drop off or mail back to the Borough with a copy of a voided check.

Sidewalk Maintenance and the Homeowner's Responsibilities.

All persons owning or occupying residential property; which has located thereon or abutting thereto any public or private sidewalk, which are used by and/or are open to the general public, shall be required to maintain, construct, replace and repair the same in a workmanlike state of maintenance and repair.  All holes, cracks, excavations, subsidence, or uneven pavement in sidewalks shall be maintained, filled, repaired or replaced as necessary, walks and steps repaired and other conditions removed where necessary to eliminate ground surface hazards or unsanitary conditions with reasonable dispatch upon their discovery.  It shall be the responsibility of the owners and occupants of residential property to take reasonable steps to discover any such ground surface hazards or unsanitary conditions; which may exist on sidewalks on their premises or abutting thereto. Failure to comply with Borough Ordinance can result in a summons being issued.

Exterior Maintenance - GRASS

All exterior grass and lawn areas of residential premises shall be maintained at a cut height of no more than six (6) inches. Failure to comply with Borough Ordinance can result in a summons being issued.
