AVOID THE FOOD COMA:
Thanksgiving doesn’t mean your good nutrition habits have to suffer. Here are some tips to try. Don’t skip eating before the big meal; that plan to "save room" always backfires. Try to avoid processed goods and stick with the homemade. Offer to bring a dish, the perfect opportunity to add some healthier food to the day. For instance, swap out a Chex Mix appetizer for a variety of olives & nuts. Garlic-stuffed olives look festive and taste delicious. The fats in the olives & nuts are healthy. Balance your plate with a quality protein, good fat and healthy carbs. One last piece of advice. If you goof on Thanksgiving, don’t give up on all healthy eating. The next day get right back on track with balanced meals.
