COVID-19 continues to affect us in so many ways. Fortunately, with the exception of one week where we had reports of 5 new cases in town, we have averaged less than 2 cases a week for the last 8 weeks. On June 11th we had 355 total cases since day one. As of today, there are a total of 368 cumulative, not active, cases. That represents 13 positive cases town-wide in an 8-week period.
During that period of time, the Governor has relaxed restrictions on retail establishments, indoor and outdoor gatherings, dining, personal service salons and youth sports. Even with greater use and participation in these types of activities, we have managed to keep our transmission rate low here in town. ...read more

REST IN PEACE FORMER MAYOR HARRIGANLast month I had the sad task of informing you of the passing of one of our long-time residents - Former Mayor and Councilman, Michael Harrigan. Michael's wife is former Ward 2 Councilwoman, Ellen Harrigan.
Mr. Harrigan served as Councilman for Ward 2 from 1977 -1978 and again in 1983 - 1989. He proudly served as Mayor of Lincoln Park from January 1987 through December 1990. His public service did not stop there, he served numerous terms on the Planning Board between 1994 and 2017.
According to Former Mayor David Baker, "...my friend Michael Harrigan, a truly great citizen of Lincoln Park. Mike didn't just talk the talk he walked the walk, always standing up for what he believed. And what he believed is that we all have an obligation to work together to make a better community, and you need to truly listen to all sides".
Mike always had a smile and hello for everyone, he will be missed. Rest in Peace Mike Harrigan and Thank You for Your Service to Lincoln Park. Below is an obituary written by his daughter:
Michael Murphy John Alexander Harrigan grew up in the Bronx. Born on a gorgeous autumn day, September 18, 1942. The son of Irish immigrants, he lived in a cold-water flat which—he said—was so cold that when you turned the water on in winter, it would freeze in the basin. The cast of characters we heard of included one-eyed Mary, Casey Stengel and the priest who hung Dad’s brother out the two-story school window in, eliciting the classic response from his parents “What did you DO to make the priest so angry!” (READ MORE....)

TOWN RAIN GARDENLincoln Park Resident, Nitya Makkapati, recently completed her GIRL SCOUT SILVER AWARD PROJECT which was constructing a town rain garden.
What is a rain garden you might ask? The purpose of a garden is to direct floodwater away from roads and houses and into its retention ditch. Compared to flood barriers and drains, rain gardens are an environmentally friendly and cost-effective way to manage flooding in your yard. Please read more about the project.

A MESSAGE FROM PAL Now that summer is upon us, some PAL sports will begin thanks to Governor Murphy allowing practice and eventually the playing of games. This is great news for the children of Lincoln Park. The kids can get out and play the sports that they enjoy as well as seeing some of their friends. Lincoln Park without baseball, softball and soccer this spring was very unusual, but Covid-19 was something we had to take very seriously. PAL Sports intend to follow the social distancing rules that were put in place by the State of New Jersey as well as the Borough of Lincoln Park. With that being said, both players and parents MUST adhere to the 6 feet social distancing rules. While the children are playing a sport, they are not required to wear a mask, but while they are on the bench or the sideline, they are required to wear a mask, as are the coaches. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO SHARING OF EQUIPMENT. Coaches will have sanitizer with them. The PAL takes this virus very seriously, and the coaches will be required to enforce social distancing and mask wearing regulations. Temperature checks of ALL participants will be taken prior to any practice or game. As a reminder to parents, if your child is not feeling well for any reason, please keep him/her home. The safety of your son or daughter, as well as the other players and volunteer coaches is of the utmost importance. Your help and cooperation will be needed to ensure we experience success in opening sports activities up this summer. Enjoy your summer and be Safe! Lincoln Park PAL Board
