George T.Wolfson

George T. Wolfson

It is with a sad heart that I must inform you of the recent passing of Frank Elefante and George T. Wolfson who both left us on Thursday, July 6, 2023.  Frank and George were longtime owners of Lincoln Park businesses and both were respected figures in the Lincoln Park Community.

Frank and George were committed to helping others and the impact of their devotion, generosity, leadership, and dedication to Lincoln Park and to all the lives that they have touched will be remembered for years to come.  Please keep their families in your thoughts and prayers.

REST IN PEACE GENTLEMEN – YOU WILL BE MISSED.

Frank Elefante

A Lincoln Park resident since 1957, Frank was one of the founding partners in the Lincoln Park based Nielsen-Elefante Nurseries.  Frank served the Borough of Lincoln Park in various positions including the Shade Tree Commissioner and as a volunteer on the Lincoln Park Police Reserves and Civil Defense Director.  He also served as a member of the Pequannock UNICO and was awarded their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.

Frank's first job was working with a clock maker before finding his passion in the field of horticultural.  He had many hobbies but still enjoyed his lifelong love of tinkering with clocks.

Frank's adoring family is still "rooted" in Lincoln Park and will miss him dearly.

George T. Wolfson

George was the owner of ShopRite Liquors which was established in 1977 by his father, Harold.  In addition to his success with ShopRite Liquors, George served as the Chair of the Wakefern Liquor Committee and was a member of the Wakefern Grocery and Floral Committees.   He was a devoted board member of the Chilton Hospital Foundation and was committed to their annual fundraising efforts to ensure the hospital could grow with the Community.

Outside of his love for his family and friends, George had a passion for golf and was a longtime suffering METS fan – “Let’s Go Mets”.

George brought joy, happiness and love to the Wolfson, Maizel and Moore families and they will all hold his memory close.
